Go Blue Mousse!

Despite a loss, I am a proud Wolverine fan tonight.  The Buckeyes were favored by 16 1/2 points today.  Commentators suggested that the only change Michigan had was to bring back former quaraterback Tom Brady to play for the day.  Everyone anticipated a massacre.

And we ALMOST won it.  Say what you will about the controversial call to go for 2 (I wouldn't have done it personally, but that is why Brady Hoke is the head coach and not Kristi Gatchel) but we hung in there the whole game.  We only lost the game BY ONE POINT.  Go Blue!!!

In other news, Happy National Mousse Day! I made some fun berry blue mousse to go with the game.  Noah especially liked it.

Mom and I headed downtown for a bit this morning for small business Saturday and ended up snagging Mikayla a pair of ice skates!  Rumor has it that they might be skating again here with Aunt Shell at Christmas time and I heard that Grandpa Gary wanted to take her for her birthday in Farmington.  So the deal we snagged will get plenty of use, I'm sure.

Otherwise we hung out, watched football, snacked, Mom and I put a 500 piece puzzle together and just enjoyed each other's company.

Off to cut down the Kosakowski Family Christmas Tree in the morning!  Then it's back to the Hills for some pie. So until then...

Light Up the Night!

 Happy National Chocolates Day!

Happy National Lemon Cream Pie Day!  (Totally cheated on this one and we had lemon cream snack cakes.  But we're out of town, and I can't only make so many pies.  Deal with it :-p)

OK, covered those bases...

Today has been great!  We made our annual Kosakowski trip to the zoo for the Lights Before Christmas.  As a bonus, the zoo has added an ice skating rink this year and my WONDERFUL siblings took both of my kiddos skating for the first time.  I won't bore you with my wit, the pictures say it all.

Big game tomorrow!

In the meantime, enjoy the pics :)

These are Bavarian Mints (think a cross between Andes mints and York Peppermint patties - yum!)

Mikayla got another early birthday present from Miss Cassandra who made this pillow herself!  Mikayla was delighted!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy National French Toast Day! (See you thought I was going to start in on turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing - had to throw you a curve ball!)

But first:

Happy 32nd Anniversary to the most amazing parents a girl could have hope to have.  Thank you for showing me what marriage truly means every single day.  I hope that you have had the chance to enjoy each other today (in spite of all the craziness!) and this anniversary is followed by so many more.  The only reason that I get to be here celebrating Thanksgiving today (and National French Toast Day!) is because of both of you.  Many happy returns on the day!

OK, so...

Happy Thanksgiving, all!  I hope that this finds you full - of food, of love, of family, of the joy of the season.  We are here in the 'Mont celebrating away.  Right now the Muppets are one - does it get any better than that?  (Well, maybe if Lady Gaga wasn't on....)  So I'm going to go enjoy my evening and hope that you're doing the same.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy National French Toast Day!

This pretty princess came to dinner - Thanks Aunt Sarah for the early birthday present!

 Let's eat!

Shop 'til You Drop

Quick post because the hubster and I are having so much fun together by just ourselves I don't want to squander it blogging :) (Not that i don't love you all and appreciate that you are reading my rants, but I know you'll understand)

I am in the best mood as Grant and I rocked out the majority of our shopping today.  In fact - THE KIDS ARE DONE!  And as Grant said at one point "it is so much fun to shop for them when they're not here"  I officially cannot wait until Christmas morning now!

In the meantime, Happy National Bavarian Cream Pie Day.  I made my own Bavarian Cream from scratch and then made mini pies for us to enjoy as dessert tonight.  Haven't tried them yet, so we'll just say they were good, hehe

So looking forward to the next couple of days!  Alright, I'm off to hang with my favorite guy, wrap some presents, watch a movie or two or three, who knows!  French toast tomorrow! (and turkey and stuffing)  I'll be posting over the next few days from the 'Mont, so bear with me as I'm not sure when I'll get stuff up.  Until then...

Think we had fun?

Piece of Cake

Today has been a blur!  I don't think I've stopped between laundry, packing, kids running back and forth with, food making, working - phew!  So just a quick post with mostly pictures as there are still a few things I'd like to tackle before Grant arrives back home (WITHOUT ANY KIDS!) later tonight.  So...

Happy National CAKE (that was for you, Mom) Day!  I had only planned on making a cake for Grant to take to the office with him, but then since both kiddos were home this afternoon I decided we'd do something fun together to celebrate, too.  Check it out below.

There's also pictures of the Advent Calendar I created for the kiddos.  I've got to say that I'm pretty stinin' proud of this one :)

Grant and I will be out all day tomorrow shopping (well, hopefully we can be done in like 2 hours and then we can just spend all day together doing NOTHING but ENJOYING each other :) ) which I am so excited about.  This will be the first time we will get to shop for the kiddos together since they were born.  I really owe you, LJ :)  I did manage to whip up some Bavarian Cream today, though, so check back tomorrow to see what I did with it.  Until then..

Made a cherry chip cake with a cherry filling for Grant

 The kiddos Advent Calendar

This very well might be my hands down favorite thing I've made all year - Cake Batter Popcorn!  Very well may be the key to Kristi gaining five pounds ;-)

I promised the kiddos they could make Cakes in a Mug for lunch today if they had good days at school

 Yep, it actually worked!

My map came for our state project!  Can't wait to open it!
