B is for Butterscotch Brownie and M is for Monkey

This morning dawned absolutely gorgeous and I knew we had to take advantage of it as rumor has it the rain is headed this way shortly followed by falling temperatures.  I'm going to not complain and just leave it at that I am incredibly thankful for the beautiful weather we've had the past week or so.  Anyway, we headed off to the park this morning.

After checking out the ducks, watching the stream, playing in a field of dandelions and swinging on the tire swing I convinced my increasingly daring twosome to take on some new gymnastic feats.  You have to check out the pictures of each of them (note they are both completely hands free) to see what I mean.  We giggled the whole way home and Kayla even insisted on pulling the wagon through a good chunk of the neighborhood.  Is she her Mama's girl or what?

Happy National Butterscotch Brownie Day, by the way.  I'm not exactly sure that I've ever heard of a butterscotch brownie before, but the recipe I came across sufficed and Grant especially loved them.  Lots of the other recipes I came across didn't even call for chocolate, so I'm not sure how that qualifies as a brownie....  This may take further research into what a 'brownie' really consists of.  But think I'll save that for another day.

After dinner we headed outside for some more yard work (Grant is already ruing the endless task of mowing nearly an acre of lawn).  Mikayla and I had quite the conversation ranging from Santa and his elves, Noah going to kindergarten to my flamingos (we named them Ann and Arbor, by the way).  If her wagon hauling effort wasn't enough proof that she is totally mine, her ability to run her mouth endlessly would be another pretty obvious tip-off ;-)

Shrimp tomorrow and still trying to figure out what we're going to take on this weekend.  Until then...

Running off ahead to see the ducks

 Oh she is so mine...
