Saturday Slump

Today's just been....  yeah....  Not my favorite.  And since I'm not much for rehashing/reliving it, you'll forgive me if this is a super brief post tonight.  But there's pictures!  I'm going with "tomorrow will be better" right now.  Yes, that's it.  At least Michigan won!  So until then...

Oklahoma Fun Fact of the Day:  Vinita is the oldest incorporated town on Oklahoma Route 66 being established in 1871. Vinita was the first town in Oklahoma to enjoy electricity. Originally named Downingville. The towns name was later changed to Vinita, in honor of Vinnie Ream, the sculptress who created the life-size statue of Lincoln at the United States Capitol.

She made binoculars this morning at Lowe's

And in anticipation of a Parade ride we snagged her Halloween costume - honestly you can't be surprised

We did get Oklahoma mail

I was busy - English Muffins and French Bread today

So this is Brown Bean Chowder and according to the recipe: "This bean chowder is similar to chili. It's one of the most popular dishes at Tulsa Public Schools. Those of us growing up in the 60's and 70's remember it fondly as a favorite treat. A real stick-to-your-ribs comfort food. Tradition dictates that it is served with cinnamon rolls. This was given to me by my grandmother who was a dietician/cook for over 40 years."  Grant liked it - especially the cinnamon rolls

A rib sticking dinner for this slightly chilly Saturday
