So why should February be any different, right? As I write guess what it's doing? If you answered snowing, you win! And your prize? Grab the nearest shovel, my dear and come help bail out the Gatchel's!
Alright, it may not be as extreme as needing help shoveling out (though if anyone wants to, let me know and I'll send you the address), we've currently got at least another four inches on the ground since this morning and it's still falling.
But, for whatever it's worth, today this Mama is saying "Thank you God for the snow!" Because at least it's not the cold we've been having. At least my kiddos can go out and play in it. And it is beautiful. Right?
(I was just interrupted mid-post by a phone call from my Dad. He informed me that my sister Shell heard rumors of a snow storm that is to drop 20 inches of snow on us Wednesday and Thursday. Weather.com only has us at a 30% chance of snow on Wednesday, but I've just informed Grant if that changes and we do get 20 inches of snow, I am kicking the renters out of the house in Florida and we are moving back. So much for my being thankful, right?)
Anyway, the crew did make it over to Home Depot for the kid's build this morning and headed to the library for storytime as well. At least they got out for awhile! They came home and have been working on art projects, playing out in the snow and just enjoying their day for the most part.
We've had highs and lows with the bathroom project today. On a super positive note, the plumbing that for some reason connects the bathroom and the waterline for our fridge was successfully installed and our ice machine now works! Yay! On a grrr, super frustrating note, we went to hang the curtains to find out the curtains in the picture were NOT what was in the package. And even worse, the vanity is just *that much* bigger than the old one and sticks out not even a quarter of an inch too far, making it impossible to open and close the door that Grant was attempting to get re-hung. We're back to the drawing board on that one, had to walk away from it for awhile and think about what we want to do next.
So, Super Bowl tomorrow. Hoping to maybe do a "Puppy Bowl" party mid-afternoon with the Janoch's, though a few things up in the air with that one. But we are for sure watching the game. OK, the commercials :) And we're going to have fried pickles, our last Arkansas highlight. Plus, if the snow does stop we're hoping to get out long enough to run out and get the supplies to make our Olympic flags. Should be a good day no matter what happens. So until then...
Arkansas Fun Fact of the Day: The Arkansas River is the longest stream to flow into the Mississippi-Missouri river system. Its total length is 1,450 miles.
Blackberries are prevalent in Arkansas, so this morning I used them to make Blackberry Cobbler Waffles for breakfast
