Time To Party

It was two delighted kiddos who woke up this morning to find that (thank goodness) school had NOT been cancelled and they were still on course for some fabulous Valentine's Day fun.  After the prep work I've put in I was also one pretty happy and relieved Mama.  Plus with the Bean being in school all day today I had some bonus time time get prepped for our Valentine's day feasting tomorrow, get dinner all prepped for tonight clean the house, go into work for awhile and finish all the final details for NJ's party.  Score!  Granted, I don't know that I'm going to be so overjoyed when this ends up being every day starting in September, but I'm not there yet.  Refuse to give that one any further thought and worry at the moment.  Nope, let's focus on our fun Friday!

So...

Cupid left them a surprise in their book bags this morning;

Stickers!

Noah really wanted to get done being ready for school early so he could use them, he told me he felt the need to get crafty.  He is so my kid...

In the meantime, we also had a clue:

Noah read us the following:

Dear Detectives,
Earlier today, Nita was spotted outside the city of Keene, which is known for hosting one very big festival every fall.  But as hard as we at MOMG Intelligence worked we could NOT figure out what the festival celebrates!  We were able to gather some clues and information, though – perhaps you will be able to put all the pieces together!  Good luck, Detectives.
MOMG Intelligence

1)      The total number of items included in last year’s celebration was 21,912
2)     No two items were exactly alike
3)     People are encouraged to create their own item and drop it off before the festival to be part of the total count
4)    If you don’t do it before, you are allowed to create your item at the festival – bring a knife!
5)     All the items have to be lit to be included in the final tally
6)    Since beginning in 1991, the festival has always been held in October.

(In case you're not familiar, check out the site for the Keene Pumpkin Festival and it should be a little clearer.  We spent a lot of time during New Hampshire week during the state project talking about the Pumpkin Festival and even did a couple of really cool projects)

They were pretty sure they knew after yesterday that Nita was in New Hampshire, so they decided to see if they could spot any of the towns that had been named in the clues this week (Petersborough, Keene and Concord)  Noah found them, so...

Time to make a guess!

And send it off!

Got them off to school and I finished up one last treat for the party this afternoon

Speaking of parties...

We made it through the party alive :)  I hope the kids had fun.  I'm just thankful it's the last one of the year :-p  We had a dinner of Pizza Stuffed Shells for dinner and are about to head over to the Aben's for some Valentine's Day fun.  We're off to the Science Center in the morning for a free showing of their new Humpback Whale I-Max movie (being a member has it's perks!) and then not sure how we intend to spend the rest of our Valentine's Day.  I do have a day full of fun meals planned and I'm sure Cupid will be making an appearance and perhaps we'll have nabbed Nita!  So until then...
