The Littlest Princess

I've lost track of how many times Mikayla has changed her mind (or added detail to) her cake for her birthday celebration with Grandpa Gary and Uncle Keith tomorrow.  It got to the point where I decided I just needed to make the darn thing so she couldn't come up with anything else!  We ended up with the following - per very specific Mikayla instructions.

She was to have her own cake.  She wanted a strawberry cake with bubble gum frosting.  It was to be a princess crown with her name on it, with Tinkerbell on top of it.  That I could handle.  This was actually much easier than the plain Tinkerbell cake she's been demanding up until now.

Everyone else was to have butterfly cupcakes.  (Same flavor and frosting)  She wanted half of them to be regular cupcakes and half to be ice cream cone cupcakes.  I kid you not, the almost three year old told me half.  I was half expecting a foot stomp and toss of her hair to accompany her 'request' but fortunately she seems to think her Mama is magic and can make anything happen and none of this is out of line.  She's mostly right on that one.  (hehehe)

So this afternoon I got baking and decorating.  We now have a princess crown cake and butterfly cupcakes that meet Mikayla's standards.  I got a "I love you, Mama" out of it so it was well worth any and all effort.  Stayed tuned tomorrow to see pictures of Mikayla destroying said cake ;-)

The princess crown cake

Tinkerbell and I had kind of an argument. I wanted her to stand on the cake, she was having none of it.  She won.

I even made the pretzel wings myself :)

And just to make you super jealous, I bet you wish you were going to be at my house in the morning.  I broke out my mini muffin tray to make mini cinnamon rolls.  They're in the fridge ready to be popped into the oven in the morning and then topped with maple frosting.  Let me know if you want to join us ;-)
