Don't think my usual ramblings would do it justice (couldn't even come close) so let me SHOW you what the Gatchel crew has been up to today.
Minnesota Fun Fact of the Day: The first open heart surgery and the first bone marrow transplant in the United States were done at the University of Minnesota.
(Kristi's side note - HUGE ENORMOUS GIGANTIC props to my friend, Tess who is responsible for the amazing party we went to and (along with Keith) producing the two very talented munchkins we saw in Joseph tonight. I don't know how you did it today, my dear. "That'll do pig" doesn't even come close to the kudos you are entitled to. You made a WHOLE bunch of people VERY happy today. Love ya!)
Got the Minnesota scrapbook page done!
The decor was incredible!
Making their goodies from Spiderman
Tess created this awesome comic from Spiderman for the kids! Each of them got to then make/do certain things to create their own super hero - create masks, make super heroes that flew, decorate their costume, work on their skills (with a bean bag toss!) and a whole lot more. What they made then filled their goodie bags
The comic continued
Noah and the birthday boy
Super hero Mikayla!
Bean bag toss!
Designing their costumes
And it all ended with the most fun (that was hard to get pictures of) Spidey web (silly string!)
The birthday boy taking a shot at his dad with his spider web
Amazing munches, too!
The super girl taking a lunch break
There was even a pinata!
The birthday boy giving it a go
Kayla's turn!
Noah, too!
Noah managed to knock Spiderman's torso from his head (though it didn't bust the pinata open completely)
So they rigged it up for another go
The absolutely adorable allergy free spider cupcakes Tess made and one rocking Spiderman birthday cake!
Props to Keith of his mad decorating skills (and Tess for her baking and cooking skills) - the cake looked and tasted incredible
Ready to sing
Kids + cake = one happy group
Crafting away
Creamy Swedish Meatballs (For all the Scandinavian influence in Minnesota, dontchya know! Grant said they were *almost* as good as the ones from Ikea)
Ready to go see their buddies in "Joseph"
Hmm, do we know this guy?
Or a few of those kiddos?
Yep, definitely know those kiddos!
Visiting after
These four make my heart happy!
